Justin Pinnells

Academic Director

Justin Pinnells, our Academic Director, brings a wealth of experience in education and technology. Previously, he was the Head of Languages at Winchester College.

Justin’s passion for educational technology and online learning is matched by his love for culture, music, and science fiction. He keeps a keen eye on advancements in AI, excited about their potential to transform teaching and learning.

Dedicated to innovation, Justin aims to create dynamic learning environments that challenge traditional methods. At CATALYST, he integrates behavioral science to enrich virtual learning, focusing on peer-to-peer interactions and gamified activities to keep students engaged.

Dr beth mackintosh

Lead Facilitator

Dr. Beth Mackintosh, formerly Head of Philosophy and Religious Studies at Winchester College, is now one of our Lead Facilitators at CATALYST.

Beth was also a visiting research and knowledge exchange fellow at the University of Winchester, where she taught Bioethics and led seminars on eco-philosophy and eco-apocalypse.

With nearly 20 years of teaching experience in secondary and higher education, Beth brings a wealth of knowledge and a fresh perspective to our team.

Dr john cullerne

Lead Facilitator

Dr. John Cullerne is the Surmaster at Winchester College, managing academic compliance and shaping the school’s educational framework. He joined Winchester in 1995 while completing his DPhil in Theoretical Physics at Oxford.

Throughout his tenure, John has held key roles including Head of Physics, Housemaster of Bramston’s, and currently, Undermaster. His extensive experience enriches our courses at CATALYST.

Teboho, our Course Manager and Facilitator, has a robust background in political science and economics, starting her academic journey at the African Leadership Academy.

She has also worked in various roles within the financial industry, applying her academic insights to real-world contexts. At CATALYST, Teboho is committed to helping students understand their subjects deeply and recognise their potential societal impact through the capstone projects.
